BL4 Vladof Legendary Weapons

Look if you just want to hold down the trigger and never stop shooting Vladof is your answer honestly, no other manufacturer comes close to the raw bullet output and the underbarrel attachments are not just a gimmick either, that underbarrel shotgun on the Faisor one shots most trash mobs at close range and you don't even need to swap weapons, the grenade launcher gives you free crowd control that doesn't cost grenade ammo and I've been using Vladof since my first playthrough, it's just pure fun spraying bullets everywhere

Vladof Manufacturer Gimmick

Highest fire rate in the game point blank period, underbarrel attachments give you secondary weapon modes like shotgun blasts or grenade launchers or tasers or rockets and honestly they're all useful in different situations, largest magazine sizes of any manufacturer which is great because you're gonna need all those bullets, pretty ammo hungry but the sustained DPS is unmatched and with the right build you can literally fire forever without reloading which feels amazing tbh

Why Pick Vladof

Look if you just want to hold down the trigger and never stop shooting Vladof is your answer and I've found that Vladof shines brightest in mobbing situations where enemies keep coming and you don't have time to reload honestly, no other manufacturer comes close to the raw bullet output, the underbarrel attachments are not just a gimmick either they honestly add a ton of utility, that underbarrel shotgun on the Faisor one shots most trash mobs at close range and you don't even need to swap weapons, the grenade launcher on some ARs gives you free crowd control that doesn't cost grenade ammo, and the taser attachment stuns annoying enemies like Anointed which is huge in the later difficulties, I basically can't play without at least one Vladof in my loadout at this point

But here's the thing people don't talk about enough Vladof guns have massive magazines but they also chew through ammo faster than anything, you pretty much need some form of ammo regen in your build or you'll be scrounging for ammo boxes every two fights, Moze basically solves this with Forge and Redistribution and without her you might struggle to keep Vladof fed in long boss fights, still the sheer DPS ceiling on these guns is unmatched, a well rolled Shredifier with the right anointment can out damage most legendary rocket launchers and that's just an assault rifle we're talking about, imo Vladof is the best manufacturer for players who like to play aggressively and push forward constantly you know what I mean

Best Vault Hunters for Vladof Guns

Moze is the obvious pick here and it's not even close honestly, Bottomless Mags tree gives you ammo regen and mag size and fire rate which is basically everything Vladof wants, Forge alone turns a Shredifier into an infinite bullet hose and if you add Cloud of Lead for free shots and Redistribution for ammo sustain you literally never have to reload, I've cleared entire Slaughter Shaft rounds without letting go of the trigger and it's kinda ridiculous honestly, like I'm pretty sure the devs didn't intend for you to fire 500 rounds without stopping but here we are

FL4K is the second best choice and honestly sometimes I prefer FL4K Vladof over Moze for bossing, Fade Away gives guaranteed crits and Lucian's Call returns ammo on crit so it's basically infinite ammo during your action skill, plus FL4K's Hunter skills boost fire rate and crit damage which stacks nicely with Vladof's already high RPM, Megavore giving a chance to crit anywhere is huge for the Lyuda too since you're landing 3 projectiles per shot and any of them can trigger the ricochet, it's a really clean synergy

Zane is decent but not amazing with Vladof honestly, his kill skills give fire rate and reload speed which helps and Playing Dirty gives double projectiles sometimes, but he doesn't have the ammo sustain that Moze and FL4K get so you'll run dry faster, Amara honestly doesn't synergize much with Vladof at all she's better off with Maliwan or Jakobs for elemental and melee stuff, so basically if you're going Vladof you want Moze or FL4K and the other two are kind of afterthoughts imo

Hidden Mechanics

Here's something the game doesn't tell you Vladof underbarrel attachments have their own separate ammo pool that refills over time, so you can spam the underbarrel grenade launcher even if you're completely out of AR ammo and the cooldown on the attachment recharging is about 8 seconds per shot and it holds up to 3 charges, this means you can fire off 3 free grenades or shotgun blasts and wait a bit and do it again without spending a single bullet, it's basically a free secondary weapon and I didn't know about this for like my first 100 hours, wasted so much ammo on things I could have done for free

Another hidden thing the Infinity pistol can roll with different elements even though it shows kinetic on the card sometimes, you gotta test fire it to see the actual element, also the Lyuda's split projectiles each count as a separate hit for on hit effects like Moze's Short Fuse so one Lyuda shot can proc Short Fuse up to 3 times if the enemy hitbox is big enough, that's why it melts bosses so fast and honestly the card doesn't even hint at this interaction, classic Borderlands hiding the best mechanics from the player

And the Faisor's underbarrel shotgun actually scales with shotgun damage bonuses not AR damage so if you have a class mod or artifact that boosts shotgun damage it buffs the underbarrel too, same goes for grenade damage boosting the underbarrel launchers, build around the attachment you actually use not just the base weapon type, this tripped me up for ages because the Faisor is listed as an AR so I never thought to equip shotgun boosting gear and stuff like that

Early vs Late Game

Early game Vladof feels amazing and honestly it's maybe the best leveling manufacturer, you pick up a green Vladof AR at level 5 and it shreds everything because the fire rate is so much higher than anything else you have access to, ammo isn't really a problem early on either since fights are shorter and enemies drop more ammo relative to what you spend, the underbarrel attachments carry hard in the first playthrough and the shotgun attachment in particular one shots most basic enemies until about level 20, I've leveled like 4 characters now and I always gravitate toward Vladof for the early game because it just makes everything so much faster

Late game is where Vladof gets tricky tbh, once you hit Mayhem levels ammo consumption becomes a real problem and without Moze or very specific ammo regen gear you'll spend half your time looking for ammo, the damage per bullet also starts to fall off compared to Jakobs or Torgue which hit harder per shot, but the ceiling is still incredibly high if you build around Vladof properly, a god rolled Lyuda with the right anointment is still one of the best boss killers in the game even at Mayhem 10, the Shredifier with consecutive hits anointment stacked up is a monster, you just need to commit to the ammo management part of the playstyle, I'd say Vladof is top tier early game and stays top tier late game but only if your build solves the ammo problem, otherwise it's kind of a trap

Pro Tips

First tip always check the underbarrel attachment type before you commit to a Vladof gun, the shotgun and grenade launcher are S tier and the taser is B tier and the rocket is kinda underwhelming honestly, if you see a high damage AR with the shotgun attachment grab it even if the gun stats look mediocre because the attachment alone makes it worth using, I've passed up so many good Vladof guns early on because the card numbers looked bad and I didn't realize the attachment was carrying the whole weapon

Second the Boogeyman sniper is slept on hard and everyone talks about the Lyuda but the Boogeyman has a hidden chance to not consume ammo that's actually way higher than the card says, I've fired 20 shots in a row without using a single bullet it's absolutely wild, pair it with Moze's Some for the Road for infinite free sniper shots after exiting Iron Bear and things get completely out of hand

Third don't sleep on Vladof pistols because the Infinity gets all the attention but the Magnificent is low key one of the best mobbing pistols in the game, the increasing fire rate means longer fights just get easier and with a good mag size roll you can hit insane RPM numbers, also the Jericho RPG fires in an arc that goes way higher than you think so aim above your target's head not at them, the mortar shells come down from above and the angle takes some getting used to, and finally if you're farming for a specific Vladof legendary the Slaughter Shaft is your best bet since Titan drops both the Shredifier and Jericho and the mob density means more world drops overall, etc you get the idea

Why Pick Vladof

Vladof is for people who think reloading is a waste of time and honestly I'm one of those people, the underbarrel attachments are what make Vladof special because every gun comes with a secondary fire mode that's basically a free second weapon, grenade launcher underbarrel on an AR gives you crowd control on top of single target DPS, the taser underbarrel stuns enemies and sets up easy crit shots, and the shotgun underbarrel turns any Vladof AR into a close range monster when things get up in your face, the RPM is the highest in the game across every weapon category which means Vladof weapons scale incredibly well with on hit effects and ammo regen, if your build has any form of ammo sustain Vladof guns will out DPS everything else in sustained fights, it's that simple tbh

Best Vault Hunters for Vladof Guns

Moze and Vladof are basically made for each other and I mean that literally, Bottomless Mags means the already huge Vladof magazines become genuinely infinite and the fire rate procs Short Fuse constantly, Iron Bear builds can use Vladof weapons during cooldown without worrying about ammo, FL4K with a Vladof Lyuda during Fade Away deletes bosses because the fire rate means more crits in the Fade Away window, Zane's fire rate buffs from Violent Momentum stack multiplicatively with Vladof's already high base RPM, Amara benefits less directly but Vladof elemental weapons with her infusion can spread status effects faster than any other manufacturer or whatever

Hidden Mechanics

The underbarrel attachment uses a separate ammo pool from your main magazine so a Vladof AR with a grenade underbarrel doesn't consume AR ammo for the grenade it pulls from your grenade pool, this is huge and the game literally never tells you this, also Vladof weapons have a unique heat mechanic on certain legendaries and the Shredifier actually gets more accurate the longer you fire it which is the opposite of every other high RPM gun in the game, the bipod mode on Vladof heavy weapons reduces recoil by 80% at the cost of mobility but you can animation cancel the deploy time by melee attacking during the mount animation, it's one of those things you either know about or you don't and the game sure isn't going to tell you

Early Game vs Late Game

Early game Vladof ARs are ammo hogs and you'll spend more time looking for ammo than shooting honestly, the blue and purple Vladof guns are fine but nothing special and the legendaries are where Vladof shines, so for leveling Vladof is kind of a trap unless you have ammo regen from skills or artifacts, but once you hit endgame and can farm specific Vladof legendaries with anoints that support your build Vladof becomes arguably the best manufacturer for sustained DPS, the Lucian's Call and Lyuda alone are worth building around and I've made entire characters just to use those two guns

Pro Tips

The grenade underbarrel counts as grenade damage for skills and anoints so Moze's Means of Destruction procs off it which is huge for sustain, the bipod mode on Vladof ARs isn't just for accuracy it also increases fire rate by another 25% but the game doesn't show this in the tooltip, the taser underbarrel stuns most non boss enemies and some minibosses and the stun duration is long enough to reload and empty another magazine, for the Shredifier specifically don't aim down sights because the hip fire spread tightens as you fire and ADS actually resets the accuracy bonus, honestly this gun has so many weird quirks you could write a whole guide on it
